getting your file built correctly from day one

 If you’re starting a new business — or moving to Xero for the first time — it’s important that your file is set up carefully and in a way that reflects how your business actually operates.

A well-structured setup helps you avoid errors, re-work and frustration later on, and gives you confidence that your records are accurate, practical to use, and ready to support BAS, payroll and reporting from the start.


The Xero Software Setup service is a practical implementation service where your file is configured, explained and handed over in a way that supports clarity and confidence — not guesswork or trial-and-error setup.

what's included in the setup


 Your Xero file is set up to suit your business and operating environment, which may include:

  • chart of accounts structured to your business
  • bank feed connections
  • GST / BAS settings (where applicable)
  • payroll configuration (where applicable)
  • receipt capture / document upload tool setup
  • a training session to help you get started confidently
  • step-by-step reference notes for future use
     

This is a practical implementation service — not tax, accounting or advisory advice.


New setup vs system migration

 Xero setup needs can vary widely depending on whether you’re:

  • starting fresh in Xero, or
  • moving across from another accounting system, or
  • beginning Xero after business activity has already started
     

Even where the intention is to create a “new” file, there are often practical considerations such as:

  • existing transactions already entered
  • partial or incorrect setup attempts
  • opening balances that need to be positioned correctly
  • historical activity that must be reflected in the new file
     

Because of this, all Xero setup work is discussed and scoped individually to ensure the approach is appropriate for your situation and that the file is configured correctly from the start.

Migration-style setups (or setups involving prior history) may involve additional complexity, and this will be discussed with you before a fixed fee is agreed.

training and handover

Additional training or ongoing support can be provided separately where needed.

 Pricing for Xero setup varies depending on whether:

  • you are starting fresh in Xero, or
  • you are migrating from another accounting system, and
  • the level of configuration, history and preparation work required.


After an initial discussion — and where needed, a brief review of your existing records — I’ll confirm the recommended approach and fixed setup fee before any work begins.

Upfront payment is required prior to implementation.
