advisory & business support

Getting your books done is one thing - understanding them is another

Tidy books and lodged BAS keep you out of trouble. But real progress comes from understanding your numbers well enough to make decisions with them — pricing a job properly, knowing when you can afford to hire, or seeing a cashflow pinch coming before it arrives.

Advisory is ongoing, fixed-fee support for business owners who want more than compliance. It's having someone who knows your business and your numbers, walking alongside you as things grow and change.

what advisory support can include

Every business is different, so we shape this around what you need. It can include:

  • working out your break-even point and where you actually make your money
  • cashflow reviews and forecasting, so you can plan ahead instead of reacting
  • regular reporting and check-ins to keep you accountable and in control
  • tidying up systems and workflows so admin takes less of your week
  • guidance on pricing and margins, and whether the numbers are sustainable
  • acting as the link between your business and your HR advisor — keeping payroll details, updates and employee records flowing properly between everyone

Where specialist HR or legal advice is needed, we'll connect you with trusted professionals — so you're always getting the right advice from the right person.

who it's for

Advisory is a good fit if you:

  • want to know how your business is really performing — not just that the BAS went in on time
  • are planning for growth and want structured support along the way
  • like the idea of regular check-ins to stay accountable
  • want to make business decisions with confidence instead of guesswork

how advisory usually starts

Most of our advisory clients didn't come to us looking for advisory. They came for help with the day-to-day — data entry, reconciliations, keeping the books tidy.

The shift doesn't happen because the numbers suddenly start making sense on their own — for a lot of people, they don't. It happens through conversations. They ask a question, we ask one back, and that back and forth slowly builds a picture of what the numbers are actually saying. Somewhere along the way, the question changes from "is this done?" to "what does this mean for my business?"

And then we take it from there. That's advisory — not a big decision, just a natural next step with someone who already knows your business and your file. It's about creating the space to step back, see the bigger picture, and plan for the future with someone in your corner.

the next step

The first step is a discovery session. We'll have a conversation about your business, where things are at, and what you're hoping to get from your numbers. We'll also take a look at your file — because advisory works best on solid foundations, and depending on the state of the books there's sometimes a bit of groundwork to do first. If that's the case, we'll tell you straight and map out the path to get there.
